The OptoAcoustic Gas Detector, available as GLD-OA-01 for LEL and GLD-OA-02 for Carbon Dioxide monitoring is a microprocessor-based, self-contained gas sensor that provides continuous monitoring of combustible gas leaks (such as Methane CH4 or Propane C3H8) in the concentration range of 0 to 100% of the Lower Explosion Limit (LEL) respectively 0 to 20,000 ppm CO2. It can be used as a stand-alone, or as part of a larger facility protection system using other control and automation equipment. The OptoAcoustic Gas Detector is meant to be used in conjunction with an appropriate power source of between 10–30 VDC, it may be connected to any device capable of accepting 4 to 20 mA analog signals, HART and MODBUS protocols are pending.

The OptoAcoustic Gas Sensor is factory-calibrated under well defined lab conditions and ready for immediate use; once power is applied for 60 seconds, the sensor is fully operational. Embedded linearization algorithms enable to maintain accurate output over the entire measurement range, and embedded compensation algorithms enable to keep accurate measurement over changing temperature conditions (temperature compensation).

Unique Features & Benefits
  • Sequential Redundancy doubling sensor lifetime to a minimum of 15 years
  • Immunity to gas thus no sensitivity loss making the sensor maintenance-free
  • Built-in-failure-sensing and self-diagnostic tools for highly improved reliability
  • Immunity to temperature and humidity fluctuations to withstand harsh environment
  • Factory calibration allows instant operation without the need for field calibration
  • Highly stable technology that eliminates the need for routine tests and calibrations
Typical Applications
  • Natural Gas Gathering & Processing Plants
  • Natural Gas Compressor Stations
  • Drilling and Production Platforms, Gas Wells
  • LNG/CNG/LPG Processing and Storage Facilities
  • Oil Refineries, Chemical & Petrochemical Plants
  • Gas Turbines, Power Plants
  • Fuel Loading Facilities
  • Wastewater Treatment Plants
